Danielle M. Kasprzak, MSW, LICSW

I am a psychoanalytic therapist and clinical supervisor with 13 years of experience. My style is warm, engaged, and thoughtful.

I graduated from the University of Minnesota with my master’s in social work and completed a two-year postgraduate fellowship at the Minnesota Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. I am currently a fellow at the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis.

In addition to my work as a therapist and supervisor, I teach in local psychoanalytic psychotherapy training programs and regularly run reading groups on gender and sexuality, race, and politics in psychoanalysis.

Before I became a therapist, I had a career in scholarly publishing. I was the first woman and youngest person to become the humanities editor at the University of Minnesota Press where I specialized in queer and trans studies, critical race and ethnic studies, feminist philosophy, disability studies, childhood studies, and cinema and media studies. Several books I acquired won national and international awards. My work with authors ignited my curiosity about how relationships develop, how people make sense of their worlds, and how writing and identity are so often fused together.
